Anlysing film posters

The titanic poster gives the potential audience the clear impression that the genre of this film is a romance. Thos is done by the embrase of the main characters, the closeness and intimacy sujests that they are in love. But ther eis something sad about how their eyes are closed you can feel that this film has a sad twist. You can also tell it is a period film due to they design of the ship and the slight climps of what the characters are wearing.

The narrative of pulp fiction is formost a gangster film. However the poster has elements of film noir this is due to the actress featured on the poster representing a femfatal figure. This assumption by the audience is because of her tight black dress, red lip stick, cigareete and high heels. But the key element that joins the genres of gangster and noir is the carfully placed gun. The gun is front centre and helps get the message of possible violence in the film and how a gun is seen is a form of defence control and status.
The setting of the photo is a low lit room the dark colours help represent the element of mystery and you get a shady feel almost like this could be a hideout.
